As of right now, I have one application: Dial-a-fix.
It's pretty stable, for being an alpha-test, and it will be updated next month probably. It will remain free forever. Anyway, I would like to eventually make a few 'killer apps' that I could make money from. Problem is, I don't know what kinds of programs people need right now. Any ideas? I want to make *something*, I just don't know what. I'd probably charge in the range of $1-$10 (USD) depending on how 'killer' my app is. :P
Maybe you should think about updating ToHex with new features to make it your possible 'killer app'. >-)
It won't be.
I knew that ;;)
Prog something that removes the suck,/i> from Dalnet.
No, Actually I need an app that corrects my HTML tags.

Just found Dial-a-Fix, looks good. Can I get in trouble if everything that it checks for is ther and in good working order?
If you are looking for a program to write – How about one the will analyze windows(I have 98se)files, that will install and or repair broken or missing files. I am a software freeware junkie and sometimes I get in trouble installing and uninstalling software, some of the programs will change or delete windows files and I have no idea what was corrupted or changed. I end up reinstalling from a second hard drive that I use to make a exact disk copy of the C drive. It looks Dial-a-Fix will most of this?
Thank you in advance,
Russ
Dial-a-fix won't (and can't) harm your system in any way, even if it's already working properly.
I'm not going to write any programs that analyze Windows files, especially 98, because there are 6 major versions of Windows in circulation, and they all have multiple revisions of several thousand files. The database and time required to create such an application would be staggering.
98, 2000, and XP already have System File Checker (SFC), and any broken files in these operating systems can be replaced by performing an in-place upgrade (overlay) installation (also known as a repair install). If a third party program improperly removes critical system files, it is not the end-user's fault (you), it is the fault of the author of the third party software.
Dial-a-fix does not replace system files, but simply re-registers ones that are present (using regsvr32.exe).
