Don't run it yet.

2) Then download CCleaner and install it:

3) Close all programs and double-click your downloaded Norton Removal Tool and go through the wizard and let it restart your computer at the end.

4) When Windows is back up and running, go to Start, click Run, type %ProgramFiles% and click OK.

5) In the Program Files explorer window, locate any folders that start with the word "Norton" or "Symantec" and delete them. If any file/folder won't delete, make a note of it in your mind and let me know.

6) Double click Common Files (inside of Program Files). Look for "Norton" and "Symantec" again and delete anything there.

7) Open CCleaner. Click the Issues button on the left (update: it's called "Registry" now). Click Scan for issues. Remove all issues found and let it delete all items (make a backup of the items when it asks, and save the backups somewhere you know where to get them). Scan for issues again, and remove all issues again. Continue scanning and removing until there are no issues left. Let me know if you have any problems at this step.
