secedit.exe comes with Dial-a-fix in the .zip file now, so you don't need to download anything separately.

secedit-sfx.exe ? I have downloaded this as your wonderful Dial-a-fix told me to do and then I ran it again but secedit-sfx.exe is still missing.

I must be doing something wrong?

I've never seen that happen before. Are you able to duplicate this problem if you run DAF again?
Does it begin immediately upon registering cryptdlg.dll ?

If you cancel the .NET passport dialog 18 times does it stop? (that's how many DLLs Dial-a-fix registers in this section).

I've never seen this happen before and I don't understand how it could be related to SSL DLL registrations ;)

edit: also, several of the larger DLLs (like initpki.dll) appear to lock DAF but are just working hard. I'm going to try to put registrations in a separate thread or something so that the GUI remains responsive.

With this DaF, when I clicked Fix SSL/HTTPS, upon reaching the Register DLLs step, the DaF window hung (blank white window, "not responding"), while Windows endlessly prompted me to add a .NET passport (that is, the window continued to reappear after canceling it) until I killed the process tree.

On a system that I do lots of virus scans, spyware scans, and other work (at work):

I've re-uploaded TheNotifier with all of the above Notify entries supported. Re-download it and double-check that they get hidden when you click Hide known.

oh i forgot, can you add a hosts file resetter that recomplies it from scratch ? (hasnt changed since nt4)

thought of inclusing some of the stuff from the repair section in tweakui?
a reset all security zones in IE to default values would be cool and etc (also perhaps a clear everything from all of the sites secion too?)

also for policies
NoLogoff should be removed? up to you
NoRecentDocsMenu should be removed imo

the control panel section in tweakui would be cool to be implemented, as i have seen certain cpl's get hidden

could you also improve the flushdns by adding or something:

nbtstat -R (Purges and reloads the remote cache name table for netbios)
nbtstat -RR (Sends Name Release packets to WINS and then, starts Refresh for netbios)
arp -d * (clears arp)
ipconfig /release
ipconfig /flushdns
ipconfig /renew (last 3 are obvious)
