The final release of IE7 is fast approaching … and I mean really fast … and will be delivered to customers via Automatic Updates a few weeks after it’s available for download.

Hmmm, getting Internet Explorer 7 through Automatic Update will confuse lots of people with average and less than average computing skills. And is it already perfect?

Edit: You could however opt to disable the automatic delivery of IE7 as a high-priority update via Automatic Updates and the Windows Update and Microsoft Update sites. See here how to download a toolkit.

I can't wait to learn how to fix the disasters this is going to cause. I'll be forced to get Dial-a-fix done faster :P

    Hi DJ,

Well if the latest version of DAF is finished faster then that would be at least something good to come out of MS releasing IE7! :)

I can only hope that the AU update comes a few weeks after the general release so everyone has some additional time to take stock of the implications upgrading to IE7 and the problems it might bring.

I assume that IE7 will have an uninstall option, but just in case, is there any easy way to reinstall IE6 on Windows XP SP2?

    Kind Regards

    Simon

They say it'll be 'a few weeks' after the general release but I truly hope that all flaws are ironed out by then.
