Used RegEdit – found TrendMicro folder, opened PC-cillinNTCorp folder, opened CurrentVersion folder, opened Misc. folder. Found "allow uninstall" and changed value from "0" to "1" – worked!! Uninstalled without asking me for the password (which I didn't have as the orig admin who installed is gone). Thanks for the hints ®®®

I contacted Trend Micro about removing Trend Micro Antivirus plus Antispyware because I had forgotten the password I used. They gave me the following instructions:

1. Click on Start
2. Click on Start Search
3. Type tissuprt and hit enter
4. Once Trend Micro Diagnostic Toolkit is up, click on the Uninstall tab.
5. Click Uninstall
6. Restart computer

Simply change the value of HKLM_SOFTWARE\TrendMicro\PC-cillinNTCorp\CurrentVersion\Misc.\AllowUninstall from 0 to 1

yea ok well i have worry free business security and it changed the permissions on the url filter and pretty much everything else and switching the permissions does not work please help

The Corp version of TrendMicro Office scan has the following reg location.

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\TrendMicro\PC-cillinNTCorp\CurrentVersion\Misc.

with key name "Allow Uninstall" set to 0, just change it to 1 and the uninstall works.

If you don't have the 64 bit OS, then reg path is:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\TrendMicro\PC-cillinNTCorp\CurrentVersion\Misc.

Thank for your help with uninstalling Trend Micro Internet Security, after I lost the password. I renamed the Machine Key, and then uninstalled successfully.

I had this problem recently. Our offsite guy who installed it would not tell me the password (I figure it must be something really nutty) even though he does not work for us and does not own our computers. The laptop would not start except in safe mode w/o networking. I had tried many suggestions that I found, but for whatever reason, none of them worked. I downloaded a thing called the revo uninstaller from download.com. The revo uninstaller does not care about passwords and wiped out every little bit of TM.

I wanted to uninstall Trend Micro from a laptop which nobody had the password for, I successfully uninstalled Trend with the help from Dan LaMoreaux posted instruction on May 20th, 2008 12:58 PM.

Simply change the value of HKLM_SOFTWARE\TrendMicro\PC-cillinNTCorp\CurrentVersion\Misc.\AllowUninstall from 0 to 1

This worked perfectly, I am albe to script this and make the change to several computers.
