Just a note of support. I applaud your drive and initiative in making such a drastic change to your life. Go for it with gusto! I changed careers late in life and haven't regretted it.

Thanks for all your hard work with DAF – it's still one of the best apps around!

I personally will not be able to, however, I will be attempting to assemble a team to take over Dial-a-fix. The process from this to another release is an arduous one, so in the meantime you will need to continue pestering Microsoft to fix their piece of… operating system.

A couple of comments about Dial-a-Fix. This may sound pessimistic, (it's really not) but don't hold your breath for a "new and improved" version of DaF. As far as Windows XP is concerned, DaF is already pretty damned robust and there's not all THAT much more that DJL could stuff into it without making it bloated and cumbersome to use. In regard to Vista, as most of you here know, there are so many things that are fundamentally different from XP that in order for DaF to be truly viable, it would require a ground-up revision of a lot of the major tools. I have had the opportunity to see the guts of DaF under the wise tutelage of the oh-so-modest Lizard and I gotta say it would be one hell of a task for someone to try to create a Vista version without at least semi-constant input from das Lizard, who I know for a fact cannot spare the time nor the synapses right now. What I am personally (and perhaps a bit disloyally) hoping is that DJL is using Vista enough in his new endeavors that it will piss him off to the point that he will FIND time for a DaF-Vista build. =)

Good luck with the change of career; I know what you mean about the thanklessness of the task sometimes.

Please do pass DAF on to someone who will care for it.

I would be tempted to learn more about programming myself so I can keep it updated

If all else fails please make it Open Source under the GPL licence or similar so someone will take it on and maintain it.

Dang that just sucks =( I will miss your amazing program. It has been the trick to many of my technical fixes for my customers in the shops Ive worked at for a long time. Its done things to fix windows, where others would just soon as reinstall windows from scratch. I wish you luck in your new career and will miss updates to DAF for sure =(.

What the hell? I just went to the website your name links… and it was designed by Andreas Viklund! I know that name from old XM mods that I used to get from traxinspace…

(All the stuff on my last.fm page are mods made in Impulse Tracker.)
